when planning out the design for our house with our latest move, we knew that color and originality were high on the priority list. we went to town designing in our minds and sometimes on paper to make sure our rental house would feel like a home and was brimming with personality.
by the way, you may notice i say “we” when talking about decorating and designing our house. because honestly, clint is so much better at this than i am. and working on our house together is one of our favorite pastimes.
i am excited to show you more glimpses of our home and some great things you can do to make a rental fabulous, but for now, i want to show you the perfect accessories that Malissa from Malissa’s House sent us to incorporate into our fun, colorful, and quirky decorating style.
one of Malissa’s signature pieces is her custom bird pillow - “how many birds are in YOUR tree?“
at the time, we didn’t know there would be another little birdy joining our tree, so we may have to add on to this later:)
i told Malissa the color scheme of our new living room and she went to town. i love that she also incorporated little rosies in there!
and BONUS, Malissa also sent this super fantastic halloween inspired pillow that my boys are crazy for.

this is totally my style when it comes to decorating for the holidays. i’m all about still keeping it colorful and fun! the chevron is actually painted on the fabric, then stitched as well.
so happy i found a new shop to come back to for unique and lovely items that will enhance the personality of our home.
